GAVRILOV DANCE LLC is a roving/ mobile arts program serving the special needs community throughout New Jersey Hudson and Bergen County and NYC providing Ballroom dance lessons at local private and public schools. Our dance program is currently in effect at various non-profit and private schools in NYC and New Jersey, teaching Ballroom Dance to middle school and high school students. *group classes are only offered for students attending these schools. Private lessons are available for anyone upon request.
The program is designed by founders Alexey Gavrilov and Aki Kudo who are professional dancers and dance instructors who have won numerous awards within their respective fields. Our dance program focuses on the principles of Ballroom dance such as the Waltz, Cha Cha Cha, and Salsa as a primary foundation which will provide children with skills and the opportunity to develop and strengthen their mind and body as well as improve their socialization skills. Dancing helps to improve posture, better balance and motor coordination, and improves both cognitive and physical health.
Our mission is to provide a structured dance arts program specifically for and dedicated to people with special needs. We bring years of experience within the disciplines of ballroom dance to our local communities of New Jersey and New York. GAVRILOV DANCE promotes this dance program as well as socially oriented activities that unite families and give children with special needs an opportunity to express their artistic abilities while strengthening their mind and body. In keeping with our strong philosophy of inclusiveness and diversity, we offer mixed ability programs, events and dance arts education to the special needs community.
ALEXEY GAVRILOV's dance career began at the age of 6 at one of the top dance schools in Russia. Alexey’s passion for helping children with special needs began in 2012 in Seattle, WA when he had an opportunity to work with one special child with limited cognitive abilities due to a brain injury. With his natural connection with children, his lessons through word of mouth quickly grew to a group of 15 children with various types of disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism, and children on wheelchairs. He also provided workshops for parents, organized performances and fundraisers to raise awareness. With his growing passion and ambition, Alexey completed the Expressive Therapies Summit program and is now certified by the Autism Movement Therapy Organization.
GAVRILOV DANCE is dedicated to provide dance instruction for the artistic development of children with special needs.
